Overview

Crossed between two species of catfish, Synodontis angelicus and Synodontis eupterus is the resulting hybrid catfish which dons a very cryptic and stunning pattern with contrasting colors of dark chocolate and cream white. This cool cat’s display can be described as a vermiculated or maze-like pattern of dots along with squiggly and sometimes broken lines. However you see it, Synodontis Angelicus X Eupterus Hybrid will leave and indelible mark in your memory.

As diggers, Synodontis catfish will appreciate a fine sandy bottom with large roots and crevices for hiding places in a tank of 50 gallons or more. Sensitive to nitrates, good water conditions are necessary. It prefers a current in the aquarium. It can be kept as a schooling fish or in a tank with other Synodontis species. The Synodontis Agelicus X Eupterus Hybrid Catfish may also be maintained with Alestes Tetras and most African Cichlids of similar size.

Currently, many synodontis catfish species are being successfully bred in the aquarium. Look for more hybrids to come in the future.

Synodontis Catfish are omnivores and should be offered sinking catfish pellets, frozen/thawed bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, plus a good quality flake food.
