Bluefin Damselfish, Siyah Damselfish, Papyon Damselfish, Sarı Sırtlı Damsel ve Kraliyet Damsel olarak da adlandırılır. Bir çocuk olarak, parlak sarı dorsal ve mavi göğüs yüzgeçleri ile vurgulanan gri bir gövdeyle çok çekici. Balıklar olgunlaştıkça homojen bir şekilde siyah olur.
Vahşi doğada, Bluefin Damselfish genellikle yalnızdır ve genellikle beslendiği yumuşak mercanlarla ilişkilidir. Akvaryumda, çocuk genellikle huzurludur, ancak olgunlaştıkça oldukça agresif hale gelir. Sadece diğer büyük agresif türlerle birlikte tutulmalıdır. Çok büyük olmadıkça akvaryum başına sadece bir Bluefin Damselfish tutulmalıdır. Karides için bir tehdit olabilir ve yumuşak mercanlarda kıstırılabilir.
Bluefin Damselfish, pul ve dondurulmuş müstahzarlar dahil çoğu yiyeceği kabul eder.
