Tahiti Butterflyfish’in ön yarısı gri bir renge sahipken, arka yarısı koyu kahverengi ila siyahtır. Gözlerinde siyah bir çubuk vardır ve kuyruk (kuyruk) yüzgeci gri renktedir.
Tahiti Butterflyfish’in yüzmesi için bol miktarda alan ve 70 galon veya daha büyük huzurlu bir topluluk akvaryumu gerekir. Tek başına tutulabilir; bir çift olarak tutulursa, her iki balık da akvaryuma aynı anda verilmelidir. Butterflyfish’in bu türü resif güvenli olarak kabul edilmez.
Diyeti, deniz balıkları, kabuklu etleri veya mysis karidesleri gibi kıyılmış etlerden oluşmalıdır. Etli bir vitamin formülü renkleri parlak tutmaya yardımcı olabilir.
